Cape Legends Interhotel Challenge 2014 day at Neethlingshof

6 candidates from around the country enjoyed a day at Neethlingshof, learning about their wines, history and delicious lunch at Lord Neethling. Birkenhead House in Hermanus had Candidates Chef Lolly Prins & Wine Steward Sandile Mnyuka, The Oyster Box in Durban had Tafadzwa Dube (Wine Steward) and chef Sibongile Dlamini and TsogoSun's Hyde Park Hotel had Wine Steward Prince Mabena. I was lucky enough to be the only media invited to this very informative and interesting day. Every day this week candidates from around the country spent a day at their matched wine farm/brand and have already started preparing for their cook-offs to be held in their relative provinces early in June. A winning team from each province will then participate in the finals soon after and the winning team will be announced at a gala dinner at the Mount Nelson on 25th July 2014. This program is aimed at raising the standard of service, wine knowledge and food preparation around the country and in so doing, inspire and encourage young chefs and wine stewards to greater heights.
