This is the 3rd year of the Cape Legends Interhotel Challenge. There are now 25 hotels involved from all over South Africa - with each hotel putting forward a candidate chef and wine steward to be put through their paces. Each hotel is randomly partnered up with one of the fine wineries in the Cape Legends stable and their challenge is to match their food with those wines and for the wine stewards to up their game and showcase their wine knowledge and service skills. This is a national competition and the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Thokozile Xasa expressed her delight at the educational opportunities this initiative provides. We look forward to watching the competition throughout the year and seeing the candidates grow during the process.
