MWT Investments Pty Ltd t/a Compagniesdrift is a black empowerment business funded by the Myburgh Family Trust, Standard Bank and the Land Reform and Development Programme (LRAD) of the Department of Land Affairs. In 2015, Ilse Ruthford, their CEO, took us through the facility, to show us their massive storage capabilities, already used by Ken Forrester, Vriesenhof and a number of other prominent wineries. They also offer bottling facilities, a wine analysis facility and they do their own labelling and now also make their own wine. Compagniesdrift is situated near Stellenbosch on the R310, just next to Meerlust, and offers the families who live there access to fresh vegetables, education and upliftment.
