Plaisir de Merle launches stunning new blend - Charles Marais

Plaisir de Merle is one of the Distell fine wine estates and we hope that they remain, as many of the other estates are being sold off.  The Charles Marais is named after the French Huguenot founder of the farm - in the late 1600's.  The media were invited to sample the very well-rounded red blend  - which was very ably paired with a delicious lunch prepared by chef Bertus Fourie.  The Charles Marais is not an inexpensive wine - retailing at approx R1000 per bottle, but the sommeliers and media were suitably impressed and very poetic and eloquent in their praise!
