Asara Wine Estate & Hotel is situated just outside Stellenbosch on the Polkadraai Road. The views from the rooms in the hotel are really breath-taking, and one really feels like one is tucked away in the winelands away from all the noise of the world.Most of the rooms in the 40-bedroomed hotel have been renovated and are sleek, elegant, calm with stunning views back towards Stellenbosch across the dam and vineyards.There are restaurants to suit your palate and pocket, from the deli to the Sansibar Bistro where I enjoyed a most delicious melanzane with Michael Olivier, to the evenings-only top end mise en place restaurant with new chef just arrived.One of the oldest buildings on the property is the Bell Tower - and this bell tolls when the scones are ready for tea - so I look forward to returning for tea and scones one of these days!
