Jean Vincent, organiser of the South African Wine Tasting Championships, put the Gauteng taste-buds to the test last night at the Provincial taste-off - at the Juliet Cullinan Standard Bank Wine Festival at Summer Place. There were 62 candidates, and the winner was sommelier Eric Botha from the Matt Cigar Lounge Maboneng took top honours with 42 points out of 65! Eric will put his taste buds to the test at the National Finals on 2nd July. The Western Cape round will be held on 3rd June at the Taj Hotel in Cape Town, and then the individual scores will decide who will reach the finals on the 2nd of July. The national finals will select the 4 members who make up Team South Africa going to France for the World Championship on the 14th of October 2017.
