The first half of the award season is upon us! The Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show is now 16 years old and some of the top Trophy Winners are relatively young wineries - Tokara, DeMorgenzon and Leeuwenkuil.Tokara took the Best Overall Producer at the show and DeMorgenzon, after entering only 2 wines - their Reserve Chenin and Reserve Chardonnay - walked off with tons of awards, including the International Judges' award!Mark Norrish from Ultra Liquors with his incredible knack for finding super wines at great prices, was awarded the Best Value Gold Medallist & the Old Mutual Trophy for Discovery of the Show - for his Bordeaux Blend Red - A Secret Cellar wine, selling at R35!The awards lunch was simply sublime and the service at the Mount Nelson was really sharp and attentive.Well done to all the winners!
