The TOPS@Spar Wine Show came to Cape Town for the first time this year - at GrandWest. It was a pretty windy affair with the South Easter really giving it stick and the tents did well to keep upright in the gale!We had our very own whirlwind sommelier, Jean Vincent Ridon, who hosted wine.co.za's Extreme Wine Pairing Theatre event in the Cape Times Theatre on Saturday 16th Dec - to a packed audience and sadly we had to turn away quite a few disappointed guests.Thank you to our partners Riebeek Cellars, Zevenwacht, Peter Falke, JC le Roux, Orange River Cellars, Stellenbosch Vineyards for their wines, and Richard Bosman for his fabulous ham.. We paired the wines with Klein Rivier Gruberg, Richard Bosman's delicious ham/pancetta and also a traditional South African pudding - the good old malva pud, which went so well with the JC le Roux La Chanson! Everyone just absolutely loved it!The theatre event was a great success... seems people are keen to learn more.
