New owner at Roundhouse celebrating with Juliet Cullinan

The Roundhouse in the Glen in Camps Bay is steeped in history. It was initially a guardhouse for the Dutch East India Company in the 1700s and then was Lord Charles Somerset's hunting lodge in the 1800s and subsequently had many lives, always offering various hospitality opportunities - viz a tearoom, dance hall, restaurant and boutique hotel.
It was recently bought by the 1980s Springbok Rugby icon Ray Mordt, who has plans to uplift and energise the elegant old lady.

We joined Juliet Cullinan at their fine dining section on Tues 20th Feb to celebrate the 28th year of her highly regarded wine festival in Johannesburg - the Standard Bank Juliet Cullinan Wine Festival - which will be held early in June.  The celebration with a small media contingent was delightful and we were treated to an 8 course dinner, present by chef Dylan Laity. The dinner was accompanied by top Chardonnay and Pinot Noirs, show-casing top South African Burgundy-style wines from the top South African Wineries.
