The 2018 Villiera trade tasting was well attended in the city and it was lovely to see the younger winemakers, Nathan Valentine and Xander Grier really owning the space. My favourite wine of the evening, after their Tradition of course, was their Bush Vine Blanc Fumé 2017 - so full and well-balanced - which uses their new egg-shaped fermenter. I was surprised to see their 2007 Monro still so fresh and full and also enjoyed their new Domaine Grier (from their farm in France near Perpignan) Alba - a first for me tasting a Grenache Gris / Grenache Blanc blend.
