Launching 2018 wines at Morgenster

Always a highlight on my calendar, the launching of the wines at Morgenster presented by winemaker extraordinaire Henry Kotze. The wine tasting is usually accompanied by a tasting of the first pressing of the year's olives.  Freshly pressed olive oil, garlic, toast and salt are one of the simplest and most delicious flavours, but when you add to this a true Italian lunch, excellent parmigiani, it just puts it in another league!  My taste-buds were in heaven - clearly I have Italian blood!

The tasting included 2 wines bottled from 2018's harvest - which was surprising - a very fresh and delicious grassy Sauvignon Blanc, as well as their Caruso - a beautiful light pink rose.

I am very much a bubbles gal, so the MCC which is named after Giulio Bertrand's daughter Alessandra was much enjoyed, and even more so I when discovered that it is a 100% Cabernet Franc!  I hope it will be available for tasting at the Cab Franc Carnival this weekend.
