Tasting some fine Chenin Blanc from #Anderkantdieberg: Breedekloof Makers show off their Chenin

Breedekloof Makers is the result of a journey that began with the idea to craft small, boutique productions of Chenin Blanc in limited volumes.
With the theme being wooded Chenin, it was great to hear and taste the winemakers' journeys in experimenting with the wood. Many overplayed their hands a bit in previous years but the wines poured this year were all exceptionally crafted.
The Breedekloof winemakers might all party around the same braai but they all have their own winemaking style, resulting in very different styles of Chenin Blanc with exciting elements such as the use of Hungarian oak barrels by Ivy du Toit from Jason's Hill and the presence of skin fermented and oxidized Viognier in Ferdi Visser from Deetlefs Estate's Reserve Chenin.
Most of the wines are exclusively sold at the cellar and range from R130 - R180 per bottle.
