Bubbles, bubbles and more bubbles...

We are so spoilt for choice in South Africa - with access to the most wonderful MCCs and sparkling wines - and Vinimark, one of South Africa's top distributors, represents not only South African wines, but also imports a few top French champagnes. So attending a trade tasting of their bubbles is hard to refuse!

Their event took place on Tuesday 30 October 2018 in the NASDAK - the top floor of the Media24 building - always a treat in itself - with views of the poor commuters on the N1 making their way home through the traffic and north to Table Bay and to the south the majestic Table Mountain. Tough life here in Africa!

It was Halloween time (which I believe in fact has been renamed Hallo Wine!), and the canapes served were simply delicious - and were cheekily presented with skewer sticks coming out of cauliflower and broccoli - looking like brains! Another fun presentation was a bright orange pumpkin which matched the smoked salmon beautifully.

I found the Darling Cellars Grenache MCC a great find!
Of course the French Champagnes were a treat - the Ace of Spades and the Bollinger being so toasty and light of bubble.
