Bosjes - a gem in the countryside 'bo-die-berg'

I was fortunate enough to spend a night at the intimate Bosjes Guest House recently and had a wander around their garden.  Their avant-garde architecture has captured many and their piece de resistance is their curved chapel, which hosts many weddings.

They also have a wonderful little koppie around which one can walk to the top and then view the vista of the farm and surrounds. It was spring when I visited and the vygies were bright pink and delightful.  There are plenty of little hide-aways with their sunken tea-garden, the restaurant with stunning mountain views and they are presently building a new Deli and Wine Shop. There is no end to the development on the farm and surrounds, as I was attending the launch of the new Botha's Halte Primary School which is another delight in new design and state-of-the-art architecture, functional design as well as ensuring that the children of the valley get a good education.

It was no surprise to discover that in fact the owner is an old friend of Koos Bekker of Babylonstoren fame - as their ethos seems quite similar, as well as some of the design elements.

Well done to the Stofberg family for their foresight in creating this oasis in the Breedekloof.
