16th SA Terroir Judging

This year marks the 16th presentation of the Novare SA Terroir Wine Awards and judging started today at Nederburg under stringent Covid 19 measures and a comprehensive protocol list for judging the wines in order to ensure the daily safety and health of judges and administrators.

At this ever-growing and more competitive competition, wines which all derive from specific wine terrains are judged, hence the term “terroir wine awards” – something very special for the Cape winelands and for wine lovers with a passion for the country’s excellent and diverse terrains.

The panel was photographed respecting social distancing:

Anton Swarts, Senior Wine Maker Spier and Cape Wine Master, Samantha de Morney Hughes, wine maker at Lanrust wines,  Jeff Grier (Chairman of judging panel), Owner/Cellar Master Villiera Wines and Cape Wine Master; Elunda Basson, Cellar Master Steenberg and Carl Schultz, Cellar Master at Hartenberg Estate

The date for the Awards function will be confirmed in due course.
