Winetech 2021 Senior Cellar Assistant Workshop - Worcester & Robertson

Senior cellar assistants from Robertson and Breedekloof attended a workshop on 28 September at Botha Cellar and learned more about South African sparkling wines and Champagne. Elzette du Preez facilitated the workshop and participants learned more about the history of sparkling wines; sparkling wines of the world; the different styles; the production of South African sparkling wines, including the legal requirements to produce and bottle sparkling wines. During the tasting a French Champagne was compared to a South African MCC and other sparkling wine styles.

An independent registered social worker, Greta Grobler gave the participants more information about the symptoms of stress and how to manage stress. The presentation by Greta Grobler was available to senior cellar assistants attending the workshops in Wellington and Worcester/Robertson.

The senior cellar assistant workshops were also presented in Stellenbosch, Wellington, Worcester, Vredendal and Upington.
