On Tuesday 19 July 2022, I was fortunate enough to attend the launch of the latest Kanonkop Paul Sauer at Kanonkop Wine Estate, Stellenbosch. The release of the 2019 Paul Sauer commenced with a presentation by cellarmaster Abrie Beeslaar on the history and heritage of the estate. Next up, we had a vertical wine tasting. Tasting flights: Kadette Cape Blend 2014 and 2019 Pinotage 2006, 2012, and 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon 2003, 2010, and 2018 Paul Sauer 2006, 2014, and 2019 After the tasting, we were treated to a lunch of homemade bobotie, which paired perfectly with Kanonkop's red wines.
