At a gathering of wine lovers and media on Friday 16 September at the Von Arnim family's Haute Cabrière wine estate in the Franschhoek Wine Valley, we celebrated the wine estate's new chapter. Haute Cabrière launched the all-new Haute Cabrière Chardonnay Réserve 2021. The maiden 2021 vintage of the Haute Cabrière Réserve Chardonnay marks an exciting addition to their reserve wine collection. Takuan von Arnim, now director of wine for Haute Cabrière, noted that this wine is of particular importance as it extends their wine portfolio grown in the Franschhoek appellation. “As a winery founded in Franschhoek four decades ago, we are committed to expressing the uniqueness of the Franschhoek terroir and to further they valley’s reputation as one of the South Africa’s leading wine regions in terms of quality and provenance,” says Takuan. The launch was followed by a delicious lunch at the Haute Cabrière Restaurant. Each course was paired with a different wine from the reserve collection – Pinot Noir Réserve, Arnim Family Réserve (a Syrah and Pinot Noir blend), and Chardonnay Réserve. Dessert was paired with Pierre Jourdan Blanc de Blancs.
