The wine.co.za team and their families gathered for a year-end picnic at Spier Wine Farm in Stellenbosch this past weekend, on Sunday 27 November. We found a shady spot under the trees on the Werf, spread out our picnic blankets, and relaxed with a few bottles of Spier wine while the kids (and Judy) played at the Spier Elemental Play Garden. For lunch, we grabbed bread, cheese, and other treats from the Farm Café. Some of us bought Farmer Angus Boerewors rolls from Bubbles & Braai Bar, the farm's popular pop-up. The picnic was also a farewell party for Memory who is leaving us for her home country, Zimbabwe, after six years at wine.co.za. Spending time with her and her three children was bittersweet.
