It has been a tough few years due to Covid and lockdown and the hospitality industry has really taken a huge knock. So we really need to congratulate all the hotels who continue to participate and compete in the Distell Inter Hotel Challenge - now in its 10th year, founded and run by Showcook.com, the inimitable Annette Kesler and Chania Morritt-Smith. The glittering awards evening was held on Thurs 1st Dec 2022 at The President Hotel in Sea Point, attended by all the who's who in the hospitality world. It was an emotional evening as winners were announced and mentors thanked and whoops of excitement were heard throughout! Congrats to the Wine Steward of the Year; Pieter Bekker from The Taj Hotel, Cape Town, to Rosemary Munyoro from the Lanerac for Exquisite Wine Service. There are too many sponsors to thank, but Distell has been there right from the beginning and we hope they continue to support this really significant program as it honours those who work hard and strive for excellence.
