The Durbanville Wine Valley opened its arms to 50 wine experts, all judges in the 2023 Concours Mondial du Sauvignon competition. The judging of the wines was held in Franschhoek from 13 - 17 March. This year saw the first time that the judging of this international wine competition took place outside of Europe. At this special Durbanville Wine Valley showcase, which took place at Durbanville Hills on Wednesday 15 March, the judges and local media had the opportunity to taste some of the top wines produced in the Durbanville Wine Valley. A regional wine safari was presented where the judges were guided along stations of canapés and a variety of white wines (mostly Sauvignon Blancs and Sauvignon Blanc blends). After the tasting, guests were treated to a late harvest table-style lunch.
