Durbanville Hills Harvest 2024

The 2024 Durbanville Hills harvest started early, possibly the earliest it has been in recent years, signalling the beginning of what promises to be a season of exceptional wines. The winter’s cool and wet conditions provided sufficient water supply and much-needed recovery for our vines.

In the early hours of 17 January, our initial grapes were harvested for our Cap Classique. Shortly thereafter the Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay followed, brimming with elegant fruit. The red grapes are expected to be harvested earlier than usual, showing incredible potential with juicy fruit and a well-balanced structure.

Despite the intense heat experienced in the Durbanville area since the beginning of harvest, we are undeterred, thanks to the cooling influence of the afternoon sea breezes easing the heat’s impact on the vines and slowing down ripening for exceptional grapes.

Here are some scenes from our vineyard and cellar teams, bringing the 2024 vintage to you!
