Survivor Tradouw Day: Discovering the Tradouw Valley with Survivor Wines

I was among a group of media guests who were invited by the Survivor Wines team to join them for a day in the Tradouw Valley in the Klein Karoo. On Saturday, 20 April, we spent the day on the Joubert-Tradouw Farm just outside Barrydale. Here, Survivor Wines cellarmaster Pierre Wahl partnered with his friend Meyer Joubert, the proprietor of Joubert-Tradouw, to establish Survivor's vineyard holdings on the farm. They've planted Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, Albariño, and Malbec vineyards.

On the Survivor Tradouw Day, we had a wonderful time exploring the vineyards and experiencing Survivor's great wine in its own terroir. We had a tutored wine tasting, went on a vineyard tour, adopted our own vines, blended our own wine (Survivor Cabernet Franc Merlot blends), enjoyed a sundowner with a view, and indulged in delicious food by Beate, Meyer's wife (who runs the farm's Deli Alfresco).

Discovering the extraordinary potential of the Tradouw Valley was a truly unforgettable experience!
