Stellenzicht Vineyards hosted a Chardonnay Long table event in celebration of International Chardonnay Day on Thursday, 23 May 2024. The event was hosted in the Wine Pod On arrival, we were served with a glass of Thunderstone Chardonnay 2022. Dinner was prepared by chef Gustaaf Boshoff. To start off, we had amazing canapes that we couldn't get enough of, like oysters, fried kingklip, and pumpkin custard. The starters and mains followed, which were paired with Stellenzicht Thunderstone Chardonnay 2023 and Stellenzicht Acheulean Chardonnay 2023 respectively. And what a culinary experience it was! After the mains, Stellenzicht winemaker L'Re Hughes told us about the wine and terroir at Stellenzicht while everyone enjoyed a glass of wine. To end the evening off on a high note, we got spoiled with delicious petit fours.
