On a rainy day at the end of May, Vergenoegd Löw hosted me and other media for a lifestyle launch event. The event was an opportunity for the team to share what they love so much about this beautifully restored wine estate – a peaceful retreat in every sense of the word! We started off with a tour of the stunning, luxurious Vergenoegd Löw Boutique Hotel accommodation offering – the Presidential Suite, Luxury Cottages, Vineyard Suites, and Deluxe Lodge Rooms. Next, we were treated to the Indigenous Food and Wine Pairing at the Homestead Wine Lounge. Sommelier George Young led the pairing: An exploration of the unusual taste sensations when matching biltong, bokkom, sour fig, spekboom leaves, and amasi with the Vergenoegd Löw wine range. We concluded the visit at Geuwels, with a wonderful lunch of South African small-plate dishes which we shared.
