The Inter Hotel Challenge, arranged by Showcook (Annette Kesler and Chania Morritt-Smith), is an annual competition where 32 hotels around South Africa nominate their best and brightest young hospitality industry professionals to participate, learn, and hone their skills. The hotel and restaurant service categories are concierges, wine stewards, mixologists, chefs, pastry chefs, bakers, and baristas. The first set of 2024 Cape Town candidates were introduced on Thursday, 15 August 2024 at the launch and orientation day at The Vineyard Hotel in Newlands, Cape Town. The winners of the 2024 Inter Hotel Challenge will be announced at a glittering awards dinner towards the end of the year.
