Launch of Bloem and new Seven Flags vintages at Paul Clüver Family Wines

What a treat to be invited to the opening of Bloem Restaurant on Paul Clüver Family Wine Estate in Elgin last Friday. Bertus Basson is the owner of Bloem, and he was very clear that he takes his responsibilities very seriously. Instead of just randomly opening restaurants, he makes sure that the chefs who run them are well equipped and ready for their roles. Carla Burger, the head chef of Bloem, has been with him for six years and so is perfectly positioned to be in charge.

As media, we were included in a very special launch of the new vintages in the Paul Clüver Seven Flags range: The Seven Flags Pinot Noir 2021 and Chardonnay 2023. Just delicious!

The scrumptious lunch was presented in sharing platters, which is sensible and gives everyone choice – and more than enough delicious fare.
