It is always one of my favourite events to attend, the PYDA Graduation. This year was no different and with 45 students graduating from the Wine Practitioner course - and them finding new space at the Sustainability Institute just outside Stellenbosch is great to see. 50% of the new graduates already have work, and according to the executive director, Roger Domingo, 90% of graduates secure employment within six months – a record PYDA has maintained for over a decade. We were inspired also by 2 of the alumni who were the keynote speakers: Garcelle Jacobs, now tasting room manager at Rickety Bridge in Franschhoek, and Lwando Bontshi, assistant tasting room manager at Tokara. As part of the year-long course, PYDA students spend 2 months engaged in experiential learning through work placements which gives them exposure to the real world for work. Ifyou are keen to put up your hand and volunteer your company to participate, you will not be sorry! If you are looking for enthusiastic youth to work in the wine industry, here is your chance... connect with the PYDA and make a difference.#launchingtalent
