Wine Harvest Commemorative Event 2025 at Groot Constantia

The South African wine industry celebrated the 2025 harvest and 366 years of making wine at a glamorous event at Groot Constantia on Thursday, 6 February 2025.

The Wine Harvest Commemorative Event was also an opportunity to honour those who have made a significant impact on the South African Wine industry. This year's worthy recipients were as follows:

  • Johann Krige: 1659 Award for Visionary Leadership
  • Praisy Dlamini: Growing Inclusivity
  • Bennie Howard: Wine Advancement
  • Jan Booysen: Viti- and Viniculture
  • Marcus Lewis: Wine Agri-Worker

This is the first year that the Wine Agri-Worker Award was introduced. Clearly, Kanonkop is doing something right with 2 of the 5 recipients being from this iconic winery.
Well done Johann and Marcus!

Congrats to all, and thank you to all the generous sponsors and, of course, the oldest wine estate in South Africa, viz Groot Constantia, for hosting in such a stunning setting.

The Wine Harvest Commemorative Event 2025 was made possible by the generous support of Standard BankAir France-KLM, Western Cape Department of Agriculture, South Africa WineWesgro, Die Burger, Cape Town TourismMCC Label, and Seabourne Logistics.
