Jordan Wine Estate Harvest Lunch

The Jordan Wine Estate knows how to celebrate the harvest and we were pleased to join their team this week for a first-hand experience of what happens during harvest

Great to see Gary Jordan who honoured us with his presence as he was very busy in the vineyards excavating and planning for new chardonnay plantings.  Jordan is one of the few farms who are planting new vineyards, which is encouraging in a landscape of declining vineyards, both in South Africa and across the vine-growing countries.

Jacques Steyn, and Sjaak Nelson took us on an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the 2025 harvest, checking out the wine cellar, tasting fresh grapes, and even trying out some fermenting juice – it was eye-opening to see how wine is made. We also had the chance to sample some of the latest vintage releases.

The day ended with a relaxed harvest-style lunch at The Cellar Door, sitting outside with a beautiful view of the dam and Stellenbosch Valley, enjoying delicious food and wine.

Plus, we got to meet a "Jordan Chameleon"!
