It is Trade tasting time and Anri Steyn and I set off to enjoy the best of Meridians' brands at the TimeOut Market at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town. It is a very trendy cool venue and the tasting took place upstairs around the perimeter, which was very vibey but also made it quite a snug affair, and it was busy busy... so one did not always manage to get to taste as many wines as one would like, but delicious wines they were. From A - Z we tasted through Anthonij Rupert Wyne to Zardetto. It is an opportunity to taste wines one does not see often. The Grüner Veltliner from Diemersdal, Champagne by Billecart Salmon imported by Ken Forrester and Tokara Cabernet Sauvignon were real stand-outs for me and we ended off with a generous meal which we chose from the various food vendors downstairs. The fillet from Carne was sublime!
