Carolines Red Wine Review 2026

Carolines Red Wine Review is an event not to be missed! What an incredible treat to have the best of the best red wines available in one room.  Each winery showcases only ONE wine - must be hard to choose. Very sad to spit!

We were totally spoilt for choice, arriving to a Meerlust Rubicon, then a Vergelegen Estate Red and then Tokara Director's Reserve - not too shabby a start.

The annual celebration highlighting South Africa's top red wines has been held at the DHL Stadium for the last few years - and spacious enough to get around to taste most of the wines.

I definitely feel my palate shifting as I am drawn more to the lighter-style reds and really enjoyed the lighter Syrahs from Joostenburg and Keermont, and also the Pinot Noirs from Bosman, Paul Cluver and Richard Kershaw - and then of course the king of grenaches, Piekenierskloof.

Do not miss this next year - for the red wine lover - an absolute must for your diary.
