Young vines have to be tied to the trellis every year, for the first 4 of 5 years, as they are not strong enough to stand up on their own yet. Especially in these howling South Easterly winds we are currently experiencing this time of the year! They are tied to the trellis with a soft, bio-degradable material, that disintegrates after every season.
