I was delighted to have my singing group - A Couple of Singers - perform a few numbers from Cabaret for Dave's 80th birthday at Neethlingshof on Friday 8th June. What a privilege... we had a blast and judging by the laughs and applause it was a good start to the night's celebrations. The MC was Aubrey Ngcungama, and who is the son of Dave's Hughes’ dear friend and renowned English restaurateur, the late Gerald Milson OBE, and Aubrey very sweetly referred to him as ‘Uncle Dave’. Aubrey broke into song giving us a stunning Italian number - which was much enjoyed. Well done to Celia Gilloway for the organisation and great auction, which of course the legendary Bennie Howard managed to raise nearly R100 000.Thanks also to Gideon Nel Photography for some of these wonderful pics
