Day tripping to Robertson with wine.co.za

Robertson is expected to be hot at this time of the year, and hot it was, but also humid.  Yoliswa and I were visiting clients in the area, and were impressed by the lush deep green of the vineyards.  The roads are being worked on everywhere, which is great that they are being worked on, but can certainly add time to your trip. So... be patient,  Enjoy the bright red cannas, purple bursting beaugainvillea, relax and have a glass of great wine - easily found in the Robertson Wine Valley.

De Wetshof Chardonnay is iconic in the area of course, and we had a few very special moments with winemaker/owner Abrie Bruwer from Springfield, (more on his unusual Albarino soon).  And you can do good here too - please buy the Thunderchild Wine - made at Springfield - which supports the Robertson Herberg Children’s Home. #wineforgood

I am always impressed with the vast quantity of wines which Van Loveren and Four Cousins have - with gorgeous labels too.  Their tasting room is very inviting, with friendly staff and plenty of merchandise to take home to the family.

If you haven't been to Rietvallei for a while, Kobus Burger and his wife have been making major changes, so do yourself a favour - it is relaxed, charming and beautiful.
Bonnievale is also extending their range of wines slowly but surely, and been gathering a plethora of awards. There have been major changes, with mergers and upliftment projects on the go too.  There is also a newish range - with really pretty labels - called Dawn, Dusk, Mist and Night.
