After waiting for 2 long years for the movie Blind Ambition to be released in South Africa, it finally arrived - at a swanky Premiere at the iconic Labia Theatre in Cape Town. Many of the industry turned out to witness the uplifting story of 4 Zimbabwean somms who worked incredibly hard to arrive at being the top tasters representing their country i 2017 at the World Blind Wine Tasting Championships in France. Congratulations again to Joseph Dhafana, Tinashe Nyamudoka, Pardon Taguzu and Marlvin Gwese - all of whom have worked at some of the best restaurants in Cape Town and subsequent to their debut in France have all launched their own wine brands as well. Well done to Jean Vincent Ridon who has worked tirelessly to encourage, facilitate and train the tasters over the years and also made the premiere possible at last, as well as arranging a wonderful dinner at Aubergine after the premiere - thanks to Stellenbosch Wine Route for their sponsorship. Kudos to Australian film-makers Warwick Ross and Rob Coe who captured the essence of the 4 and their journey to France alongside their crazy coach, Denis Garet. Where can you see the movie?
