The launch of Spier's Good Natured Organic Wines on the evening of Tuesday 18 October was remarkable to say the least! We were submersed into nature and surrounded by scented fynbos and vineyards, with naked bulbs overhead, amazing food, gentle music, and of course excellent wine that is proudly organic and vegan-friendly. Spier Wine Farm is a WWF Conservation Champion, and they have done amazing work since first organically certified in 2015. They believe that regenerative viticulture can create vibrant, flavour-filled wines and their Good Natured Range is exactly that. Tania Kleintjes, Spier's organic winemaker, took us through her four new wines: Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Shiraz, and Cabernet/Shiraz Blend. The wines are made from 100% organically farmed grapes, where all sorts of bees, goggas, and microorganisms are welcome. As Tania said, "The less we fiddle with nature, the better the results" and these wines speak volumes to reinforce that sentiment. Thank you to Spier, Tania, Johan, and the entire team for inviting me to experience a part of your exciting new organic adventure.
