Harvest season at STIAS's Perold Vineyard was celebrated on Saturday, 15 February 2025. STIAS (Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study), an organisation promoting groundbreaking research, planted the vineyard on 2 October 2006 to honour the legacy of Professor Abraham Perold, a pioneer and innovative thinker. There was no better place to begin the Pinotage 100 celebrations than in Perold's vineyard – just 300 meters from his home, as Lanzerac winemaker Wynand Lategan, who makes the Aliquid Novi wine from these grapes, noted. Together, we harvested Pinotage grapes, enjoyed the sense of community that wine creates, and indulged in exceptional wines and good food.
