This is the 9th year of Wine Made Art at Tokara, and every year it is a great surprise to see what the artists have come up with. Putting pen to paper with wine is not quite as simple as it sounds and there is much extra work involved in ensuring that the 'ink' actually stays on the paper. These are real works of art and Tokara is planning to sell them, but gives no guarantee that the ink/paint will still be on the canvas in a few year's time! Miles Mossop (CellarMaster/Winemaker) and GT Ferreira presented the art to a very fashionable looking crowd, and as usual we were spoilt with canapes prepared by Chef Richard Carstens. A new Grenache wine has made it into the Tokara stable, but in very limited quantities - and very quaffable it was, too.
