On Friday, 8 May we tasted through two flights of decadent Rhône blends, bands of Gypsies and Renegades Interestingly enough much of the Cape wine growing region shares a similar climate to the Mediterranean, cold and wet winters and long dry summers, we grow so many similar things, think olives, rosemary, lavender, roses, stone Pine trees etc.The grapes that grows so well for so many years occur here and include Marsanne, Roussanne, Viognier, Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Cinsaut and is in resurgence.
