The WOSA Sommelier World Cup is very clever way to introduce South African wine to a wider international audience. Many of the WOSA international offices run the heats around the world, where they get many entrants and this year they have arrived at 8 finalists... from USA (New York), Germany, Macau, Canada, Netherlands, Africa (Kenya), Sweden and the UK. They came to South Africa for the last week and really experienced our hospitality and warmth and excellent wines. The finals took place at the Taj Hotel on Friday 23rd Sept with a Reality TV show format. They sat a theory exam in the morning and arrived at 3 finalists - Joe Yang (Macau), Nathan Morrell (Canada) and Mark Almert from Germany who won convincingly!
