Team SA 2017 announced at The Taj for the SA Wine Tasting Championships

The finals for the South African Wine Tasting Championship (SAWTC) were held on Sunday 2 July at The Taj Hotel in Cape Town.
There were 11 finalists - 3 of whom are from the Gauteng/Joburg and the rest from Cape Town.
The competition was tough, but organiser Jean Vincent Ridon announced that in fact these were the best scores ever, with even the lowest score being over 100 points.  He scored them in the same way that the World Blind Wine tasting is scored, which is where Team SA will be heading off to in France in October.
Team SA already has one member - winemaker Jolette Steyn from Steenberg, whose score at the initial Cape Town tasting was so high that she had a place guaranteed in the team - and the rest of the team is made up of Anita Streicher-Nel (Captain and on the team for 3rd time), Anton Swarts CWM (first time a Cape Wine Master is in the team) - and Anton is on the team for the 2nd time but only recently graduated with his CWM. Next up was Jeanri-Tine van Zyl and the reserve member is Nkulu Mkhwazani from Joburg.
