Season of Sauvignon a Springtime Success

The Durbanville Wine Valley is home of some of the best Sauvignon Blanc producers boasting with many of the Top 10 Sauvignon Blanc winners, past and present. It's a great setting for the two day Season of Sauvignon Festival, celebrating one of SA's most popular white wine cultivars and some warm sunshine weather.

Participating farms each planned their own festivities for festival goers with family friendly fun and live music to entertain. The weather played along well with some scorching sunshine leaving no one dreaming about their favourite winter red.

Media kicked off the day with a delicious tapas-style brunch at Diemersdal's Farm Eatery. Diemersdal is serious about Sauvignon, now producing 11 different Sauvignon's ranging from a Noble Late Harvest to a Sauvignon Rosé. The estate was geared up for Sauvignon Blanc lovers with food stalls, shaded seating and games for the little ones.

Season of Sauvignon created the opportunity to enjoy a Durbanville wine estate at your own pace, with an easy-going atmosphere to comfortably spend your whole day but 5-10 minute drives to the next estate making it easy to experience more than one of these hit Sauvignon blanc producers.
