Various dignitaries and media were at the launch of the new Double-Decker Tram which joined the very successful Franschhoek tram service. The tram service has been hailed as a great success, taking on average 600 tourists to the wineries it services. The Double Decker recently joined the fleet, and the line was extended and now it goes past Plaisir de Merle and goes as far as Simondium station, disembarking tourists at Vrede en Lust. This is not the end of the line however, with lovely buses and other vehicles taking people further down the R45 - as far as Noble Hill, Babylonstoren, Backsberg and Glen Carlou.
