Discoveries off Route62 between Worcester and Robertson

Pastoral delights greet you when you turn off the famous Route 62 at the Nuy on the Hill restaurant and tasting room, just 15 minutes outside Worcester on the way to Robertson.
Horses neigh, olives ripen at the well-known Willowbrook Olive farm, Artisanal wines are made by CP Conradie at Conradie-Penhill and surprisingly plenty of beautiful guest houses and wine cellars abound!
The craggy and hard-pressed Langeberg mountains really showcase the powerful tectonic plate movement, similar to those visible in Voelklip in Hermanus.

The Leipzig Country House & Winery is is almost at the top of the road close to the mountains and is the oldest wine-cellar in the Nuy Valley.  The original wine cellar is now a venue for weddings, parties and conferences and the new wine cellar is modern, with experienced winemaker Jacques Fourie sourcing the best grapes to make their wines there.
The tasting room has unusual frescoes of children which intrigued me. One is warmly welcomed by winery manager Alida and her delightfully mischievous black lab, fondly named James Bond - as he seems to get in anywhere!
The Leipzig destination offers delightful sleepovers - with dinner, breakfast and tastings, with all sorts of interesting delights thrown in - I am very tempted!
It is a relaxed getaway venue for big birthday parties or weddings with 17 luxury double en-suite rooms at the Guest house.
The Penhill Farm just up the road also has a wide range of accommodation offerings, so there is no excuse - get planning for your next big event - a wedding, a 50th or just a getaway with your loved one.
