Thelema - showcasing a great Stellenbosch Cabernet and winning Chardonnay

High up in the Helshoogte Pass is Thelema Wines, untouched by the hustle of keeping up with the latest trends, focusing on producing the wines that have brought them many awards, respect and acclaim. Their Rabelais is often mentioned with other great wines such as the Meerlust Rubicon and Paul Sauer, because of its substance. They know their vineyards and for decades have poured love into the soils they produce their wines from. It's part of their winning recipe, bringing quality and consistency to their wines.

Their 2010 black label Cabernet Sauvignon showed why Stellenbosch Cabernet gets all the attention. We don't often think of Stellenbosch as a great Chardonnay producer but tasting their 2007 and 2016 Chardonnay reminded of what a great growing area Stellenbosch is. The 2007 was an amazing wine with a lot of life left in it. The longevity of South African white wines are truly underrated.
