WoSA Sommelier guests get a taste of the Franschhoek Wine Valley

After an intense battle of skill and the crowning of winner Richelle van Gemert, the WoSA Sommelier Cup guests could enjoy the South African winelands in a more relaxed mood. The Franschhoek Wine Valley was one of a handful of regions to host this year's participants to showcase to them some of the valley's finest offerings.

The Vignerons united to produce an impressive line-up of Semillon, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon from Boekenhoutskloof, La Motte, La Bri, Holden Manz, Black Elephant Vintners, Lynx and Landau du Val. The international wine-loving guests were especially impressed by the Semillon they tasted. After the introductory tasting, a more informal tasting continued in the village of Franschhoek with the other producers from the region also showcasing their wines. Once again, the white wines impressed.

The day was a perfect combination of the classically stylish side of Franschhoek and the lighter side of the little village, pairing up with some heavyweights of our wine industry and sending the right crowd off with the right message about our wines.
