It's all in the pink at new Stellenbosch winery

We are delighted to have investment in the wineland from afar.  The French Oddo family and wine investor Bertrand Otto have invested heavily into the Helderberg, having purchased Romond from Andre Liebenberg only 11 months ago, as well as Cordoba, the previous home of the well-known brand Crescendo, made famous by winemaker Chris Keet.

The Romond farm has been renamed Pink Valley Wines, and true to its name, will be producing only rosé at the boutique cellar.  The building has been revamped, opened up and now houses a gorgeous restaurant to boot.

I attended the launch of Pink Valley Wines last night, and we were treated to an array of the foods which are served in the restaurant - which opened only last week. Delicious and generous portions were constantly available, with a funny French twist on the boerewors roll presented as a lollipop style snack.

I am not usually a dessert person, but I loooved the chocolate and ice cream crunchy biscuit piece of heaven, which was closely followed by the churros and melktert dip!

The wine label is playful and based on the artwork of South African artist Walther Battiss.

It is a simply glorious setting, so make your way up there (closed on Tuesdays) soon.
