The world of the theatre has been almost completely destroyed during the dreaded Covid-19 lockdown over the last 2 years. So it was incredibly poignant to join the world of theatre at Nederburg Wine Estate recently on a perfect autumn still evening, to celebrate thee 57th Fleur du Cap Awards. Usually around 80 productions are reviewed and this year only 30 were able to make it to the theatres and the awards program started off with a relatively solemn and heartfelt appreciation of all those in the world of theatre who have passed on in the last 2 years. Africa Melane is the chair of the FdCap Awards and he did such a great job hosting the event. One my my favourite actors, Sandra Prinsloo, won a Lifetime Achievement award - so very well deserved.
