De Wetshof hosted 20 representatives of the media on Wednesday, 21 August 2024 for a vertical tasting of De Wetshof Bateleur Chardonnay. Brothers Johann and Peter de Wet, along with marketing director Bennie Stipp, received the guests at the highly acclaimed Salon restaurant in The Old Biscuit Mill in Woodstock, Cape Town. Going back to the 2006 vintage, the origins of the Bateleur vineyard were told, but the wines did the talking. Each wine had its own personality with distinctive nuances, yet the refined elegance – Bateleur's signature – showed throughout. The tasting was followed by lunch, a magnificent multi-course menu created by Chef Luke Dale Roberts. Perfectly paired with De Wetshof Chardonnay wines!
